How to Start a Hub

What is a hub?

  • [Definition: a seed distribution point where community members can come to collect seeds]
  • Operated by one or more people willing to take on an admin role
  • Seeds are provided by the project — you do not need to supply seeds yourself
  • [What it needs to get started: a suitable space and someone willing to manage it]

What kind of space works?

  • Needs to be sheltered from the elements
  • Access to storage containers is useful; refrigeration is a bonus
  • [Examples of suitable spaces: a room in a community building, a storage area at a school or mosque, etc.]
  • Does not need to be permanent — an interim space is fine while a longer-term location is arranged

Registering your interest

If you have a space in mind, or you are interested in finding one, register your interest using the form below. You do not need to have everything organised before registering.

  • [Link to /hub-registration expression of interest form]
  • [What the form asks: your contact email, a description of your location/neighbourhood, any space you have in mind]
  • [What happens after you submit: the coordination team will follow up with more information]

What happens next

  • The coordination team will be in touch after you register
  • Over the coming weeks, more detailed guidance will be sent about how to set up and manage a hub
  • If you are the only person interested in your area, we will try to connect you with others nearby who may also want to be involved
